QOPT Participates in FOAN2025

QOPT staff participated in FOAN2025 – the 13th International Workshop on Fiber Optics in Access Networks which took place on 9-11 September 2025 in Szczecin, Poland. QOPT was also delighted to support FOAN2025 as one of the event sponsors. The meeting was a great opportunity to highlight the potential of Optical Key Distribution (OKD) technology developed at QOPT for practical deployment in access networks. This application area is particularly promising, as alternatives such quantum key distribution would incur significantly higher hardware overheads. The conference programme included a talk “QTTH – Quantum to the Home?” presented by QOPT employee Mr Mateusz Kucharczyk, who discussed OKD in comparison to other methods for key distribution.
